As part of our work on "Growing and Changing", 1T has planted some seeds and seedlings.
These have included: - bean seeds
- radish seeds
- viola seedlings
- a tomato plant
Here are photos of what we planted after 2 weeks of growing.
The tomato plant, in between 2 petunias. Flowers on the tomato plant. Don't pick them!
Our viola seedlings will spread out but won't get tall. Radish seeds have sprouted. We can just see
the bean seeds starting to grow.
We are finding out if seeds need water to grow. One container gets water, the other does not. The seed getting water is growing. The seed with no water has not changed.
Do plants need light to grow? These seeds have been in a bright, sunny spot. We have also put seeds in a dark cupboard. They have also grown in the dark cupboard, but the leaves and stem are yellow. What do you think will happen next? Will the seeds with no light keep on growing?
